Vasileios Fotopoulos

Postdoc

Vasileios’ research focuses on enhancing the performance of electrochemical random-access memory (ECRAM), pivotal in programmable resistors for crossbar arrays and promising architectures for implementing artificial neural networks with high energy efficiency. ECRAM devices operate by modulating the electrical conductivity of channel materials through the controlled movement of ions at the electrolyte-channel interface. Vasileios employs density functional theory (DFT) simulations to study ion mobility at interfaces between various solid electrolytes and channel materials. His project aims to determine the most stable intercalation sites and favorable migration pathways for various working ions.
