Overall, my research focuses on understanding the surface properties of functional oxides in terms of their catalytic activity and stability. Previously, I studied the mechanism of the surface degradation of perovskite oxides during their solid oxide fuel and electrolysis cells (SOFC and SOEC) applications, and also investigated ways to prevent such degradation. My current project involves the application of electrochemical cells to the methane conversion reactions in order to produce value-added chemicals such as ethylene and methanol.
